Dear C.A.R.E. Personnel,
Perhaps there will be someone there that will remember a sweet little four-month old kitten, that liked to curl
around your neck and be loved. Her name was Heidi; her name now is Lollie. That was in Sept. of '04. She was
there with other kittens, all shapes and sizes.
When I arrived she was in quarantine; she and the others climbing over each other to see what was happening on the
other side of the glass. The ladies on staff were so helpful, though I must say they wanted me to take a grown cat...
but I said "no". I want a kitten to learn my ways and I hers and we will have a much closer relationship.
I looked in the window of the quarantined room and this funny marked little fluff cried and crawled up on a chair
trying to reach me. I asked the lady to please let me hold her. She brought her out and I held her to my breast
and loved her. She cried and purred and that's all it took; she stole my heart. I paid my $50.00 for her, knowing
I got the best of the deal. I couldn't take her home that day as she was due for her 'hysterectomy'. I picked her
up a few days later when she was well enough to leave.
On our way home to Kings Point, we stopped by Dr. Foxes office (he had taken care of my Samantha, a brown Tabbie,
that I had for 21 years). He looked Lollie over and said "She's beautiful - you have a "Spotted Tabbie". You might
remember…she had a true Tabbie face with the 'M' on her forehead, stripes on her hind legs and five black stripes going
from the top of her head to the base of her tail. She has the Tabbie's raccoon tail. Her sides are black spots and
she has a pretty cream tummy. She's a lovely silver gray and black.
I had to go through a bit of wrangling to keep Lollie, as my association's rules are - you can keep the pet you move in
with, but when the pet dies or you get rid of it for some reason you cannot replace it, unless you have a letter from
your doctor, listing the reason why you need the animal. I had no problem getting the letter from my doctor…it was with
the management office…but we finally got them straightened out…and Lollie and I are living a grand life…spoiling each
other.
Thank you for being there when I needed you. Good Luck and God Bless you for all your hard work.
P.S. Lollie was four months old when I got her; she was one year old in June.
