Thanks for your interest in Boo Boo's adjustment. CARE does a good job and is an impressive shelter.
Boo Boo has been renamed and now responds to Spooky, which keeps the
"ooo" sound.
She is fearful of a whole assortment of things, our dog,
loud noises, and at first, my husband, whom she has bitten four times!
She was apparently weaned prematurely, and "nurses" on my clothing when
I hold her. It took several weeks before she even came out of her
"hidey-hole" That's all the bad news.
The good news is that she now loves to be petted, will sleep on my lap, and
has never once had an "accident". We think she's beautiful, and she is
gradually exploring the house and runs away less.
She doesn't like to be picked up, but will jump into my lap when she wants
attention.
I put a goldfish bowl near her favorite spot. Sort of a feline
TV show. She loves to sit on the window sill and watch the birds outside.
We think she will eventually be a much-loved and happy member of our
family.
Thank you for all the guidance materials, food and license that came
with her. I needed every bit
of it, never having had a cat
we didn't raise from a kitten
before.
Sincerely,
Nancy Maki
