HURRICANE RESCUE
October 2004, I was found wandering a parking lot in Ruskin, Florida.
The people that found me turned me into "CARE". At that time I weighed 60 lbs, I was a 2 year old gray/black German Shepherd. I was tested for heart worm
disease which showed positive.
Kara Rutherford, one of many "CARE" volunteers, knew of someone in Riverview that had a love for German Shepherds. They could "CARE" for me during my heart
worm treatments and become my foster parents.
They came to see me October 9. They decided to take me home. Since, I had "no name" they could name me. Jeff Rutherford, Kara's husband said how about
calling him CAESAR, which means King. Little did they know I would become King of their house.
During the heart worm treatments we bonded as a family with 24/7 "CARE," and on November 5, I was adopted. Two years later I'm 92 lbs. and very healthy.
I have a buddy in the neighborhood called "Sam." We go to the local park almost daily and even have sleepovers when our owners are out of town. My parents
take me on car rides every Sunday, I enjoy my daily ice cream treats at night after spa time, not to mention the delicious ground pork and rice as a staple of
my diet.
I have a good life, thanks to CARE, I enjoy my life of walks, play and watching, and an occasionally chasing the squirrels running around outside my lanai. I
love my family and friends.
Gratefully,
Caesar
