Hi,

I just wanted to drop you a quick email to let you know that Lava is doing well. She is such a sweet dog. We took her out shopping yesterday to buy her a crate and a soft bed, lots of toys and treats. The kids (we have 3, ages 14, 15,and 17) are thrilled to have a dog of their own. She takes long walks with us around the lake and is more puppy than we had at first expected.

I hope you don't mind but we renamed her "Lilly." When I was a little girl my grandfather (from Hungary) used to call me his "lilly girl" since he had a bit of trouble with the language. Lilly is...well, a "lilly dog." Everyone thinks that she is a puppy and will be so big when she grows up but we know that she is already grown up and we are so happy to have our Lilly-dog! She seems to like her name since it's a bit more girly than Lava.

Boo, our alpha cat, is having fun chasing sweet Lilly around. They will soon be best buddies, we can already see the friendship in the making!

If you ever hear from the guy who she first lived with, please let him know that she is with a family that loves her very much.
