I hope all is going well at the Ruskin CARE center. My husband and I adopted our beloved Sophie and we can now
understand why she was so special to you all. Sophie settled into our household like she was meant to be there
all her life. She is protective over our house and yard and cautiously approaches any visitors we might have.
She quickly bonded with our special "needs" dog, Midway, and has helped bring him out of his submissive, timid shell.
They play constantly. I don't know where the energy comes from. It has been wonderful watching the two bond, play tug
of war with socks and romp in the yard. Sophie has even experienced the joy of nightly walks to the beach. She is a
free spirit and loves the water! She quickly settled into being a house dog at night -- which leads me to believe she
was a indoor dog at some point.A big, fluffy oversized doggy bed resides at the side of my bed where Sophie sleeps.
She likes this one much better than the outdoor beds as she has shredded those to pieces. She has also exhibited that
she is no stranger to sitting on furniture. She has taken very quickly to sitting on the outdoor furniture and using the
furniture as a bridge from one piece to another! We have just one little habit to break -- the chewing. I have only
lost two pair of shoes to date but have learned to have everything in the house above Sophie level.
Anyhow, I wanted to thank you all for taking good care of her and nursing her back to health. She had her vet appointment
last Friday and is scheduled to be spayed. I'll bring her by soon to visit.
