C.A.R.E. Critter Adoption & Rescue Effort, Inc.
C.A.R.E. is a 501 (c)(3) public charity; a no-kill animal shelter for neglected, abused and unwanted cats and dogs with a mission to reduce the number of homeless and abandoned animals through adoption, sterilization and education.
We are located in Ruskin, Florida.
Most of the animals that come to CARE need just a few weeks of special care before they are ready for adoption to a good home. Others, who are older or sick or have suffered extreme trauma, become CARE ambassadors and find a special home at CARE for the rest of their lives.

Help us Build a New C.A.R.E. Home!
We have outgrown our current facility and have plans to build a new one. Would you like to be a part of this exciting project? We need to raise about $3m to complete this build.
Would you like to name a kennel, or a cat room, or the surgery suite? Larger donors will have that opportunity. Please call 645-2273 for more information. One way we are raising funds is by offering Memorial Bricks that will be part of a monument at the front of the new building. The bricks will be either 4 x 8, or 8 x 8 red bricks and they can be engraved with names, or a message, or in memory of a loved pet. Click here for the order form : Brick Order Form |

News & EventsWe are a small shelter, as shelters go, but we’re actively involved in community events year round.
These events give us the opportunity to share our mission of reducing the number of homeless pets through adoption, sterilization and education. Please join us at any of the events posted. We hope to see you there! |
